UPSC NDA-I RECRUITMENT: The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The mere issue of an Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that the Commission has finally cleared his candidature. Verification of eligibility conditions about original documents will be taken up only after the candidate has qualified for the interview/Personality Test.

UPSC NDA-I: Education Qualification

  • Army:
    • 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or Equivalent Examination conducted by a state education board or a University.
  • Navy:
    • 12th class passes with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
  • Air Force
    • 12th class passes with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
  • Naval Academy (10+2 cadet Entry)
    • 12th class passes with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Note:
1. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
2. : Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.
3. Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the 12th class or equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date (i.e. 15th December 2025) and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of Board/University Examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever.
4. Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of Commission in the Defence Services shall not be eligible for admission to the examination and if admitted, their candidature will be canceled.
5. Those candidates, who have failed CPSS/PABT earlier, are now eligible for Air Force in Ground Duty branches if they fill their willingness in the Online Application Form available at the Commission’s website.

How to Apply for UPSC NDA

  • Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.gov.in. A candidate who is willing to apply for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination shall be required to apply online and submit the requisite information and supporting documents towards various claims, such as date of birth, educational qualification, etc. as may be sought by the Commission along with the Registration and Online Application Form. For detailed instructions for filling up the form, the Notice for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2025 may be referred.
  • The failure to provide the required information/documents along with the Online Application Form or within the correction window, if any, provided by the Commission will entail cancellation of candidature for the examination.
  • Registration has to be done only once in a lifetime. This can be done anytime
  • throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway for filling up the online application for the examination

General Instructions to apply for UPSC NDA

  • Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.gov.in.
  •  Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above-mentioned website. Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application form containing two stages viz. Part I and Part II.
  • The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) [except SC/ST candidates and those specified in Note-2 of Para 4 of the Notice who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank.
  • Candidate should also have details of one photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. The same photo ID card will also have to be uploaded with the Online Application Form.
  • This photo ID will be used for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this ID while appearing for examination/SSB.
  • Before starting filling up the Online Application, a candidate must have his photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 300 KB and must not be less than 20 KB in size for the photograph and signature.
  • Before start filling up the Online Application, a candidate must have his photo identity card document in PDF format only. The digital size of a PDF file should not exceed 300 KB and must not be less than 20 KB.
  • The Online Applications (Part I and II) can be filled from 11th December 2024 to 31st December 2024 till 6:00 PM.
  •  The applicants must ensure that while filling out their Application Form, they are providing their valid and active E-mail IDs as the Commission may use electronic mode of communication while contacting them at different stages of the examination process.
  • The applicants are advised to check their e-mails at regular intervals and ensure that the email addresses ending with @nic.in are directed to their inbox folder and not to the SPAM folder or any other folder.
  • CANDIDATES ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO APPLY ONLINE WELL IN TIME WITHOUT WAITING FOR THE LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF THE ONLINE APPLICATION.
